Gala Night in Yorkton

The 12th annual Gala Evening, held in October of 2007, raised a record $28,300. Proceeds of A Gala Evening in Mexico purchased a NICO (non-invasive cardiac output) monitor for the Regional Health Centre in Yorkton, at a cost of $23,000.

A Gala Evening in Yorkton continues to be the social occasion of the year. This years’ event was once again sold out, with 320 guests. Decorations were very bright and bold with the Latin theme.

Over the 12 years of a Gala Evening in Yorkton a total of $225,000 has now been raised and used to purchase needed medical equipment for the regional health centre.

Diane Rusnak, Chair of the Gala Committee presented the NICO monitor to Darlene Onslow, Nursing Unit Manager of the Intensive Care Unit and the Emergency Room (photo above).

Ross Fisher, Executive Director of The Health Foundation, thanked the community and the guests for the tremendous support the Gala has received. Annually, 320 guests and 50 businesses contribute to their community and local healthcare by supporting the Gala.

Mitch and Geraldine Hippseley set up a temporary studio in a room adjacent to the hall and Photographs by Mitch provided complimentary portraits for guests.

A fabulous 5 course meal was served. The band Carnival, back by popular demand, provided a marvellous selection of music from the 60s, 70s and 80s that kept the dance floor full all night.

Bryce and Lorna Sherring of SherRing Gold donated a lovely diamond pendant with matching earings that was raffled off during the evening.
