The Health Foundation purchased, at a cost of $89,000, an advanced surgical microscope that creates the best possible light conditions for the surgeon. This enables a greater range of operations to be performed.

This state-of-the-art equipment allows the surgeon to complete the surgery in less time. The main operation preformed with this surgical microscope is the removal of cataracts, but there are also a number of other surgical procedures for which the microscope is used.
