Road Race

The Health Foundation’s second annual Charity Road Race will take place August 24. The presenting sponsor is the Yorkton Co-op, and Flaman Fitness is the associate sponsor.

• Early Bird Entry: $30 before July 18, 2008;
• After July 18 entry fee is $40;
• 17 and under entry fee is $15;
• Entries will not be accepted on race day.

Participants can take part in 10 km, 5 km, 3 km and Junior Runs, or the Community Walk. Participants will be eligible to receive medals, awards, prizes and door prizes.

All proceeds from the Charity Road Race go toward the purchase of heart monitoring and diagnostic equipment.

Get Ready With Our Learn to Run Clinics

Learn to Run Clinics are designed for the beginning runner or for those who want to prepare to participate in The Health Foundation’s Charity Road Race. Clinics feature nutrition, stretching, and pacing yourself.

Clinic sessions are weekly every Tuesday at 6 p.m. They began May 6, but you are invited to become involved even after the first session has begun.

They are held at the Yorkton Regional High School parking lot. There is no cost for the clinics, but runners must register for the Charity Road Race, which is Sunday, August 24. Start running with other beginning runners, and learn to run at your own pace.
